History

  • 1899 The MKT spur of the Katy Railroad extended to Columbia

  • 1901 A wooden depot is built

  • 1908 construction begins on our brick Katy Station

  • 1909 Katy Station opens to passengers

  • 1930s Railroad traffic declines

  • 1940s Rail traffic booms due to war-time gasoline rationing

  • 1960s Rail traffic dwindles

  • 1970s Depot is in advanced state of deterioration

  • 1976 Depot sold to Jack Maher who lovingly restores it with his own resources.

  • 1976 The Katy Station Restaurant Opens

  • 1979 The "Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad Depot” List on the National Register of Historic Places

  • 1998 Katy Station Restaurant Closes

  • 1999 The Colosseum Bistro Opens

  • 2015 Shiloh’s Bar and Grill Opens

  • 2026 Shiloh’s scheduled to close
